The Bartlett House is one half of a Grade II listed Regency villa constructed mid 19th century opposite the Lord's Cricket Ground. The formal façade remains unaltered, but the interior was entirely renovated creating bright minimal spaces through a sensitive dialogue with period details. On the raised ground floor, the original two reception rooms are be converted into a single space with a working fireplace and wide Douglas fir floor boards. The lower ground floor is more radically transformed with a new structurally glazed extension to the existing courtyard. Seen from above, the extension’s sedum roof will contribute a positive green addition to the existing collection of utilitarian backyards.
