With a first hermetic image, that protects us from west wind, a succession of parallel plans apparently impenetrable, massive and tectonic, make the impression that as entering it, this initial supposed hermetism is transformed into a sequence of open and exterior-sighted spaces, with the lightness and transparency that the glass panels arranged in stone-walls award it.
This antagonism between lightness and heaviness answers to a formal and constructive sincerity. The verandas regulate the sunlight in summer without the necessity of auxiliary elements, and allows the light to cover all the rooms. The plans are arranged in such a way that let the east coast breezes and protect the house from the unfavourable and North winds. The stonework´s closures, of 60cm, carry out an structural function, sheltering the facilities too, and resolving, besides, the thermal andacoustic isolation required.
