Rubber is one of my favourite materials. Initially I used rubber to create interior objects. I was curious about what you could do with used rubber inner tubes from the possibilities of this specific material. So, for example, I stretched a rubber inner tube around a part of an object, while another part of the tube almost careless folded.
The mirror, for example, shows this way of using. This allows the forms to come into existence almost by itself. This gives the objects often an organic and natural look. Over the years I've wrapped my recreation house and outbuildings in Friesland in rubber so they have a scaly skin now. The rubber endures the test of time, works as a form of heat insulation and the annual painting of the buildings belongs to the past. Last but not least, I like the buildings this way.
